Name a product you'd switch and we'll go looking for a maker. This shelf is new — we're stocking it the way we stocked food, one product at a time.

After the first bottle you are mostly paying for a pump, so a large refill decanted into one dispenser is usually the cheapest way to buy the same liquid. Foaming dispensers need a thin liquid or a foaming refill, and an ordinary hand wash can clog one. Read the fragrance declaration if hands crack or react, and note that a hand wash is not a sanitiser — each is defined by a different claim.

We report what the bottle declares and make no efficacy claim of our own. On this shelf, packaging is where refills earn their place.
